Pandemonium As Killer Herdsmen Invade Lagos Community, destroys property, injure many

Suspected herdsmen have invaded a community, in Ipaja and its Environs in Alimosho Local Government area of Lagos State, leaving  several people injured.

The herders who on Tuesday September 16th, 2025, came to the community with dangerous weapons, swooped on a house belonging to one Awosanya Olushoga Tunde and dealt a deadly attack on the residents of the house.

During the invasion, the suspected herdsmen, who were said to be armed with weapons including guns, cutlasses, stones and bottles, attacked and injured people at the residence of Awosanya Olushoga Tunde, who was brutally attacked while in Yelewata, Benue state.

During the Lagos attack the invaders destroyed the window and closed circuit television installed on the building, and also vandalised vehicles parked on the premises, and beat the occupiers of the building to pulp.

Our correspondent, who visited the scene, gathered from eyewitnesses that the attackers, while expressing their grievances against the role played by Awosanya  Awosoga Tunde in their travails with onslaught against them by Military in Benue, were asking for his whereabouts vowing to kill him if ever they set eyes on Awosanya Olushoga.

The incident which created panic in the community, was said to have forced residents to call on the government to urgently look into the issues of armed herdsmen who have relocated to the South West Zone of the Country.

"What happened in Benue, and other parts of the country must not happen in Lagos. This is the commercial capital of Nigeria, and it must be protected from sliding into chaos like what we have in Benue, Jos and other parts of Nigeria.

"Awosanya Olushoga Tunde had to flee to an unknown destination, yet they have not allowed those of us living in his house in Lagos to rest, if they found him that day, they might have killed him. 

When contacted, the Police Image maker for Lagos State said the security agencies are on top of the situation, saying that efforts are on to dislodge the miscreants from Lagos.
