A Chieftain of the Labour Party (LP) in Ogun State and the Acting National Publicity Secretary of the party, Comrade  Abayomi Arabambi, said he and other leaders adopted the incumbent Governor of the state, Prince Dapo Abiodun, as the candidate for the Saturday's election, because the LP has no candidate for the election.

Arabambi said since the party, has no governorship candidate for the election, LP members cannot sit idle and fold their arms on the day of election and waste their votes.

The LP national officer, gave the explanation in an interview with Our Correspondent

Few days ago, your Party endorsed APC gubernatorial candidate and the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun as it's candidate, why

LP did not have a candidate for the governorship poll in Ogun State, and we cannot just sit idle or waste our votes, and we have a precedent for this, before the Presidential elections, Valentine Ozigbo, former gubernatorial candidate of PDP, now in Labour Party and presently the  Special Adviser to Peter Obi on Technical Matters, came on Air to say where we don't have candidates, we can vote any other candidates of Our choice. 

So standing on that existing protocols and since we don't have a Governorship candidate in Ogun State, we must have a choice, we now look at someone who is very close to the Labour Party ideology, somebody who believes in all inclusiveness accountability and Respect. We can not just sit down on election day and fail to vote. We cannot just waste over and above  hundred thousand votes that was casted for our Presidential candidate Mr Peter Obi.

 That was why we decided to choose Gov. Dapo Abiodun.

But why are  some of party members  against the endorsement?

There are lots of characters that Julius Abure brought in when he became National Chairman of Labour Party and immediately after the emergence of Peter Obi.

 The party suddenly was transformed  into an ethnically inclined enterprise which he ABURE rigidly and  criminally ethnicised.

Abure and his bunch of  Ethnic irredentist want to  seized the party and brand  it after themselves – recreating it in their own image against our party constitution and manifestos 

Some of these political misfits, despots, scavengers and opportunist irredentist  took  up residence and life-Line on Labour party financial status to become super rich overnight with their despirate aim to establish the phantom believes that they  ‘’own’’ the Labour Party, by shutting out divergent interrogations.

The Labour Party electoral rendition is a thrilling experiment of what could be; of political possibilities, of change, but it appears with the manifestly corrupt nature of Abure couple with all manners of established criminal contradiction, conspiracies  and infractions, the party is doomed to crumple under the weight of its own afflictions and internal contradictions which May God Forbid 

While then did the Party elected him as National Chairman

We as party leaders thought he will be able to handle our Party well, but at the end of the day, he goes for anything that has money as his surname.

Infact ABURE can trade his safety to wrestle with a LION holding money 

Anything money is what Abure is interested in thus his attempt to turn labour party into one of his company through his various Anti party activities.

Your comment on the issue of Party Agents for last Presidential Election

Thank you, INEC told us that we did not have agents but he was unable to educate our Presidential candidate. He knew Mr Peter Obi has never run in any political party as  a chief executive, I mean as a presidential candidate other than when he was the V.P to  Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who was the commander in chief of PDP and their presidential candidate.

For the records, out of 187,000 polling units, we were only able to present 47,000 but Abure choose not to understand this catastrophe and all efforts to educate him on that failed because he will go for anything cash since that was what he is interested in.

You said earlier that LP has no governorship candidate for Saturday polls, what of Kehinde Sogunle 

Now on that, I will need to educate Nigerians on what actually happened between us and the man in question. For us, there was no case in court by  former Ogun State Governorship candidate of LP, Kehinde Sogunle who has decamped to PDP and in every court matter by Labour party in Nigeria. Shogunle made sure for reasons best known to him, withdrew his name from all pre election cases instituted by LP

According to INEC guidelines on party primaries and substitution, it allows 180 days before the date of the election for uploading of candidates name on the Portal,  in case of the main primary and 90 days in the case of substitution. All these were what we did with our placeholders and on  his own, Abure decided that " oh no, I want to do all this alone" he encouraged Shogunle to withdraw from the Labour party cases , and then before you know it, his matter became ˌstatute ˈbarred and that was why he failed woefully in the federal high court, he failed woefully also  in the court of Appeal 

He can go to any where, he can go to the supreme court of the world, of the heaven, of US, of UK, he's not going to get any response because with his own hand, he just choose to destroy his own political career. That is for him.

But for Ogun state, we are also not contesting for any of the Houses  of Assembly but we are not going to adopt any candidate on that and our reason is very simple, we were supposed to run, we were supposed to have candidates for all the 26 assembly but I must tell Nigerians, I want to let Nigerians know what actually transpired.

After our primaries, INEC Abuja  Legal and EPM  Department  deliberately  went into unholy alliance with some political figures in Ogun State by their refusals to published our Governorship candidate,  26 House of Assembly and few house of representatives and Senate . 

We suddenly discovered that INEC published the name of Biyi Otegbeye, that is the ADC governorship candidate who did not do any primary, I then wrote to INEC for CTC of the reports of ADC primaries where we discovered that Even the head of EPM in Ogun State wrote a report to INEC headquarters that they did not witnessed ADC primary and they were not invited.

But somewhere along the line, the EPM of Abuja and the legal department conspired to publish the name of Biyi Otegbeye which made us to go to court. Because we in LP Ogun State conducted  primary, which Abuja INEC  Legal and ICT dept refused vehemently to publish the names of our candidates despite the fact that Ogun state INEC  Resident Electoral Commissioner and Head of EPM did very well with our party to lay a claim before Abuja that they  witnessed Labour Party primary in Ogun state but because of the sponsors of ADC, a senator a sitting senator in APC, former governor of Ogun state, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, he colluded with Head of Legal in Abuja to have his way  then  I never knew that Abure Julius was a fellow conspirators in the entire political  shenanigans.

It was during these matter that Abure called me and the state legal adviser Barrister Monday Mawah to Abuja that we should discontinue the case we filed against ADC in the court, we refused. 

When we got judgement against that INEC should delete Otegbeye and other ADC candidates because their primary did not comply with electoral act hell was let loose 

We also got judgement against INEC that the name of some of our Senatorial, House of representatives and assemblies be uploaded, then the unexpected happens, the following day we got our judgement December 8, and as expected, the national chairman, if not that he is absolutely corrupt; dissolved the Ogun state executive on the 9th. A victory that was achieved in court for 3 months, he dissolved the Executive council of Ogun state for just no reason and his issue with us was very simple, he offered us money that, himself, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, the national chairman of ADC, they are all working together.

We told him "no", we now said "ok, if this is what you are going to do, go ahead", but we never knew he will also proceed to the legal department of INEC, and for the first time, INEC head of legal department, Toyin Babalola stood as an opposition political party, she now filed an appeal in cornivance with Abure and ADC, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, they connived and filed an appeal against federal high court judgement, I've never seen that, INEC that was supposed to be an umpire, suddenly picked interest and they filed an appeal and they misled the court of appeal that our case is statute barred.

We wrote letter to INEC for substitution on the 27th, we did the substitution primary, on the 29th, they claimed to record that "no the letter we wrote was 27th and we did the same substitution primary on the 27th. But how the three judges of the court of Appeal now came out with their decision still baffles me.

They concurred with INEC for reason best known to those justices, there was nothing we could do about that, but we know that justice in Nigeria should not be to the hightest bidder, but rather to the common man and be free

So this are the things I want everyone in Labour party to know that Abure is manifestly corrupt and we will continue to let him know  because how will a national chairman dissolve a state council that won a court judgement for all her candidates other than he was extremely not happy with  that, that judgement since he has been heavily compromise by ADC and the Former Governor

His emergence as the national chairman was not by his own grace, we knew what we went through before we could elect him as National Chairman.

Some people criticised us then. The rest is now history.

In the words of "Gian Vincenzo Gravina (1664 - 1718)

"True maturity lies in staying silent , smiling, turning away and changing direction, because when ignorance speaks, intelligence is silent".

No one will tell a child not to contract leprosy but such a child should be ready to live in the bush alone. 

Abure should continue  with his high handedness, he will soon see his score card. No one toys with others' happiness and ever goes scot-free.

The pains he and his folks in this category have inflicted on other Labour party members  will definitely haunt them to the extent that their future generations will be paying dearly for their act of wickedness except there is no law of karma. 

Whoever has money, can get anything in Labour Party. Abure can issue you any document, he doesn't care whether the party succeed or not and that was why he also contributed to our failure in because we don't have agent in all polling unit during the presidential election. How can we have a product like Peter Obi and somebody who is called the national chairman will not use his brain, he will not use his right sense to make everything go well for that election and only to be telling Nigerians that, oh the Obidient, our member is our agent, is that what the electoral law says, he knew the INEC directed that every agent photo, data, must be uploaded to their website, who are the people that we uploaded to the website and we are going to the election, and he expected us to perform well in that election, he only played on the intelligence of Peter Obi to which we are very sorry that he played on the intelligence of our Presidential candidate but all this thing will also be put to him in the court when the election petition commence properly. 

So that was why we did not, have headway in Ogun State because of Abure's war against Labour party in Ogun state, because he is under the payroll of senator Ibikunle Amosun who is ADC supporter.

ADC that didn't do any primary, have governorship and assembly candidates, they will partake in the election on March 18, but Labour party that did our primary, that followed all the rules, that followed rules in the  electoral act, we are not going to.

Because we don't have money. So when if justice is now for the rich, glory be God, if justice for the poor, glory be to God, I know that one day, all us will definitely give account of our stewardship.

In other words, Labour Party will not participate in March 18 elections

Yes we are not participating in Ogun state for the assembly and governorship. We are not participating, for the governorship, it was Kehinde Sogunle that actually shot himself on the leg in that regards because he withdrew his participation after compromising his status

He was the one that went and withdrew his case from the Court.

Kehinde Sogunle is now working for Ladi Adebutu and I await to see where that would end 

But for the assembly, deliberately, Julius Abure killed our ambition and I want to tell him, "Julius Abure I hereby advice to write a petition to the police, whether it's a criminal libel or defamation, write petition to the police, so at least let us see who they will now charge for criminal breach of law, who will go down between you and I because I know you are manifestly corrupt. 

You are the one that aimed to destroyed Ogun state executive  council and Ogun State Labour party a day after the court judgement.

We gave you an opportunity and you are misusing it, you turned yourself to an emperor, you turned yourself to God and you think you can do and undo, write all manner of letter to anybody. 

Abure is not a man that can lead Labour party to anywhere. He is the worst things to have ever led our party. Infact our Former National Chairman Alhaji AA SALLAM is better in grave than the living and corrupt Abure Julius

We have a lot of people following Obi but this man has destroyed the convergence of  Obidient interest in Labour party, Abure was the one that destroyed the convergence of interest of Nigerians in Labour party, he was the one that destroyed it because of his unprecedented acts of corruption.

The way Abure is running this Party is like running Abure and home Nigeria Plc . 

He has kidnapped the mind and the brain box of Peter Obi to himself and how he achieve that I don't know. All I know is that , when you are running for presidential election, money are supposed to be released even to agent and  for mobilization, but what do we have no kobo was released, we went out to sponsor ourselves and the worst thing Is this, he told some of our national officer that why money was not release was because Peter Obi said he didn't trust any member of Labour party and he would rather want to do his deal with external people. I have evidence to that effect, video evidence of the people he told that money will not be released to Labour party at all level but to some other external people who Obi believe can influence his election . Abure said  Obi claims  he doesn't trust Labour party, that is what Abure told us and if you want to challenge it, I will put the video on WhatsApp I will put it on Facebook the video of the people he told because he knew, he read the news when they challenge him on why did OBI have so much hatred for Labour party but he said, no, it was Obi that hated Labour party member so much, he doesn't have any trust in them but today, we are here because of incompetence of Abure.

Well since our presidential candidate is in court, I wish him well with Julius Abure but I know one fact, with Julius Abure, nothing good will come out of that tribunal.

Further more In  Nigeria,we have a Weak truth ,strong lies and many Nigerians are spectators whose sole interest is in who wins.

They don't mind if it is a lie that takes victory over the truth.They are just interested in who wins as openly exemplifies by the current political quagmires.

My final take on JULIUS ABURE is that 

His issues is like   a case of "The Peter Principle", a management concept which states that people are promoted based on their incompetence. 

If a person who has been struggling to manage a small family is suddenly tasked to manage the larger, more intricate family, you are promoting the person beyond his competence and ability.

He will most likely fail in that position and may cause irreparable damage to the family. We made the Worst Choice by making him our National Chairman
